At Unison.io, our goal is to give you the most effective tools for your group communication and coordination. For over a year now, we’ve been gathering information about how groups are using Unison.io, including what features have been the most effective and where we can provide even more value.

In early August, we’ll be rolling out some exciting improvements to Unison.io. These changes will include a few minor interface and navigation adjustments, as well as the removal of several small features. To help you prepare for this transition, below is a list of the changes that may have the most impact on your group.

Projections
There were five types of Projections: calendar, map, documents, photos, and action items. Although the Projections functionality as you currently know it will be retired, you will still be able to add documents, photos, and action items to your announcements. The calendar itself is being updated significantly, with expanded features like publishing to the public!

Action Items
An action item is a task that members are expected to complete. To make way for new features, some of the previous types of action items will be retired.

Complete a Task
This type of action item asked members to indicate when they had completed a task. When this feature is retired, members will still be able to complete these tasks, and you will still be able to view responses made in the past. You will not be able to create new "Complete a Task" action items in future announcements.

Upload a Document
This type of action item asked members to upload an electronic document, such as a form or image, and stored them within the action item response. When this feature is retired, members will still be able to upload documents to previously created “Upload a Document” action items, and you will still be able to access uploads made in the past. You will not be able to create new "Upload a Document" action items in future announcements.

Due Dates and Expiration Dates
Action items with due dates would prompt a member to complete an action by a specific date, while expiration dates prevented an action item from being completed after that date. When this feature is retired, any action item already set with a due date will no longer send an automated reminder to the member. Action items with an expiration date set to the future will have the expiration date removed, and will be available to be completed at any time. You will not be able to add a due date or expiration date to action items in future announcements.
